Frequently asked questions
How we score and rank
How is the Agent Readiness score worked out?
Agents check five things, in order: can they reach you, read you, tell what you do, trust you, and act with you. Your score shows how far they get.
Every company gets the same checks, scored from 0 to 100, in that order. Until agents can read your homepage and your robots.txt lets them in, what they’d find after it doesn’t count. A broken certificate, HTTPS redirect or mail setup keeps your score below Green until it’s fixed.
Green starts at 70. Your report says what keeps a score below Green, such as no way for agents to act with you: WebMCP on your site, an MCP server or an API.
Why does a check say “not measured”?
We couldn’t get an answer. Common causes: the request timed out or the server errored, a firewall or bot rule blocked unknown agents, we couldn’t read three pages from your sitemap, or a DNS lookup didn’t resolve.
A check that isn’t measured is left out of your score, not counted as a fail. If our checker can’t read your homepage on two runs in a row, your site shows as Unreachable, with the reason, and scores at most 20. If our agent can't reach your site, agents acting for buyers can't either. Letting our checker in is the first fix.
How do I move up the rankings?
Raise your score. Fixes come in the order agents meet them: first let agents reach and read your homepage, then say who you are and what you sell in structured data, then fix trust, then give agents a way to act with you: WebMCP on your site, an MCP server or an API. Your free report names your #1 fix, with an AI prompt to do it. Among companies on the same score, passing more checks puts you higher.
How do ties work?
Same score and same number of checks passed means the same place, shown as “tied”. The next place skips: two companies tied at 3rd are followed by 5th.
How do I get listed in an industry, or correct mine?
Your industries come from your company’s Listing on decisioninsights.ai, and our team curates them. If you’ve claimed your company, propose a change from your account and we’ll review it, or email [email protected].
How often do scores update?
Sites you’ve added to Stringer are re-checked every week, and you can ask for a re-check any time. Other listed companies are re-checked about monthly. The public score and the rankings refresh once a day, and the “Scores as of” date shows the latest refresh.
Does paying change my score?
No. The score reads only what we find on your site. Every check and every point is open on the free plan, and re-checks work the same on every plan.
Do you change my structured data?
No. We check your structured data on every re-check and write the fix for whatever is missing. On Business and Enterprise, you choose which changes to send, and we send only what you approved to your staging site. Stringer never publishes to your live site: your team decides what goes live.
How is Stringer different from my WordPress SEO plugin?
SEO plugins write the basic tags search engines need. Stringer checks your structured data against 210 schema.org types and 585 properties, and adds what plugins leave out: the companies each page names, linked to their official sites and Listings.
Stringer detects the major WordPress SEO plugins and adds to what they write, never replacing it. For a few of them, it tells you what’s missing and doesn’t add to their markup yet.
How do fixes get to my staging site without breaking it?
You approve each change first. On Business and Enterprise, we send only what you approved, and only to your staging site, through our WordPress plugin (in beta) or your Webflow connection. Nothing goes to your live site: you check staging and publish it yourself.
What is the agent connector?
A connector, hosted by us at your domain and branded as you, that buyers’ AI agents can add in Claude, ChatGPT or any agent that supports MCP, and ask about your products. It answers from your content, classified by Stringer. It’s coming soon, at $249/month: join the waitlist, or try ours now.
