Stringer for developers

Every check has a fix prompt your coding assistant can run, plus MCP, API and CLI.

Three ways in, one sign-in

The MCP connector, the CLI and the REST API run the same Stringer tools. Each one signs in with your Stringer account. There are no API keys for Stringer's tools.

MCP connector

Add https://app.stringer.ai/api/mcp to any AI assistant that supports MCP, then sign in. Your assistant can read your score, list your fixes and mark them done. On every paid plan.

CLI

Install it from npm with npm install -g @wiretap/stringer-cli and sign in once with stringer login, in your browser. Then pull your score, your fixes and your ranking into your own tools: stringer list-fixes, with --json for output a script can read. On every paid plan.

REST API

GET https://app.stringer.ai/api/v1/tools lists the tools your sign-in can use. POST /api/v1/tools/<tool> runs one, with its arguments as JSON. On every paid plan.

The tools

The same 17 tools in all three. In the CLI, each one is a command without the prefix: stringer_list_fixes is stringer list-fixes.

stringer_get_readiness: Your Agent Readiness score, its band, how many checks pass, and the changes that would raise it most.

stringer_list_fixes: Your failing checks, biggest gain first, each with its steps and a fix prompt. Filter by team: web, IT or developers.

stringer_get_check: One check in full: whether it passes, what we saw, why it matters and how to fix it.

stringer_set_fix_status: Mark a fix To do, In progress, On hold or Done, with a note.

stringer_get_ranking: Your place in your industry, this week's movement, the top three, and who is just above and below you.

stringer_get_history: How your score and your industry place have moved, over 7 to 365 days.

stringer_what_agents_see: The structured data agents find on your homepage, and what Stringer would add or change.

stringer_list_content: The pages Stringer holds for you, and whether each one has been read.

stringer_get_rewrite: For one page, the before and after text and the schema.org structured data Stringer wrote for it.

stringer_compare_competitors: Your score beside your competitors', with the checks they pass and you don't.

stringer_add_competitor: Add a competitor within your plan's limit, or ask us to list one we don't have yet.

stringer_remove_competitor: Take a competitor out of your comparison.

stringer_get_compliance: Weekly cookie, consent and Global Privacy Control readings for each site.

stringer_get_setup_status: Whether your sites, industry and competitors are set up, and how far through your fixes you are.

stringer_list_alerts: Every alert sent to your company, with its type, channel, time and status.

stringer_manage_alerts: See and change which alerts you get, and send a test.

stringer_search_my_companies: The companies your sign-in can open, so the other tools can work on any of them.

Setting a fix's status and adding or removing competitors need a company member's sign-in, and changing alerts needs a manager's. The competitor and compliance tools work on plans that include competitor comparison and compliance monitoring.

A fix prompt for every check

Every failing check comes with a fix prompt: the change to make, written for a coding assistant to carry out. Copy it from your report, or let your assistant fetch it with stringer_list_fixes. Fixes come in the order agents meet them, quick wins first, each with the team that owns it. When the live check passes, the fix shows as verified.

Free includes the fix prompt for your #1 fix. Every paid plan includes one for every check.

Act with you: the fifth step

Agents check five things, in order: can they reach you, read you, tell what you do, trust you, and act with you. Your score shows how far they get.

For the last step, Stringer looks for three ways an agent can act with you: WebMCP forms on your homepage (a form that declares a toolname), an MCP server that completes a real handshake with us, and an API description. Any one of them counts, and an MCP server hosted somewhere else counts once you add its address in Stringer.

Coming soon: the agent connector. A hosted MCP server at your domain, so buyers' AI agents can search and ask about your products using your own content. An add-on at $249 a month, included on Enterprise.

Get your score. Get the fix.
